(Rome, RMG) – April 2025 – From April 24 to 27, the meeting of the World Council of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (SSCC) was held at the Pio XI Institute in Rome. All members of the SSCC Council were present, accompanied by Fr. Joan Lluis Playà, the Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family, and Salesian Brother Domenico Duc Nam Nguyen, the World Delegate for the SSCC. The meeting focused on regional, secretarial, and administrative aspects and included detailed work on the preparation for the 2026 World Congress. On Saturday afternoon, the SSCC Council members visited St. Peter’s Basilica and passed through the Holy Door, followed by a visit to the Sacred Heart Basilica for a meeting with the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard. During the meeting, Fr. Attard provided an overview of the 29th General Chapter (CG29), including insights from the perspective of the Salesian Family. The next Council meeting is scheduled to be held online in June.
