{"id":1601,"date":"2019-06-26T16:46:29","date_gmt":"2019-06-26T23:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salesianbulletin.org\/?p=1601"},"modified":"2025-04-22T18:55:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T01:55:04","slug":"bosco-tech-students-begin-professional-summer-internships-across-l-a-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salesianbulletin.org\/es\/2019\/06\/26\/bosco-tech-students-begin-professional-summer-internships-across-l-a-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Bosco Tech students begin professional summer internships across L.A Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1602\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/salesianbulletin.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-bosco-tech-interns.jpg?resize=720%2C504&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"2019 Bosco Tech interns\" width=\"720\" height=\"504\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Juniors at Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) are beginning exciting summer internships with noted area organizations including The Boeing Company, Los Angeles Pediatric Society, American Red Cross, and Pasadena Biotech Collaborative that will have them working under the direction of engineers, scientists and doctors in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very grateful to the companies and organizations providing these extraordinary opportunities for our hard-working students,\u201d said Bosco Tech Principal Xavier Jimenez. \u201cThe internships will complement Bosco Tech\u2019s unique STEM-focused curriculum while giving the interns industry experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe juniors are following in the footsteps of our recently graduated seniors,\u201d he continued. \u201cEvery graduate of the class of 2019 had acceptances to four-year universities, notable schools like Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, and Penn State, and many received very generous scholarship packages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The juniors were selected to participate in the internships based on high academic standing, technological expertise, and excellent problem solving abilities, and each one has completed an extensive job-preparation process through the school\u2019s Junior Internship Program.<\/p>\n<p>Bosco Tech is an all-male Catholic high school that combines a rigorous college-preparatory program with a technology-focused education. The school boasts a college acceptance rate of 100 percent, with the majority of graduates pursuing STEM-related post-secondary majors.
