Santa Isabel Church and Elementary School, Boyle Heights, California<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate All Saints Day on Friday, November 1, 2024, the school community of Santa Isabel had a \u201cProcession of Saints\u201d followed by the celebration of the Eucharist at 9:00am. School students were well prepared to present their saints, wearing detailed costumes and sharing their stories with the student body gathered in the church. Pastor Fr. Marco Cesar Riveros SDB, presided, and concelebrants included Fr. Kristian Laygo SDB, and Fr. Peter Duoc Le SDB. The homily shared by Fr. Marco and Fr. Kristian encouraged the young people to become saints in their everyday lives. Like St. Dominic Savio, the students learned that they could become saints today by “doing their best with joy.” All the students participating in the liturgical ministries as musicians, singers, readers, and altar servers demonstrated their best and brought their youthful joy to the celebration. There are saints in the making at Santa Isabel’s School, thanks to the faculty, staff, parents, and Salesians who accompany them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Boyle Heights, California<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, October 27, 2024, St. Mary’s community celebrated a festival in honor of St. Jude Thaddeus and his feast day on October 28th. The procession through the neighborhood and the visiting of altars set up by residents culminated in a solemn Mass at 1:00 pm. The day concluded with a joyful time of recreation and dancing. Gratitude was expressed to the participating ministries and to the St. Isabel community for their support and food booth efforts. The event highlighted collaboration and dedication, with hopes for continued blessings through the intercession of St. Jude Thaddeus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
