This beautiful ritual invites us to remember the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem as they sought a place for the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the world. Through songs and reenactments, we relive that moment when Mary and Joseph knocked on doors, facing rejection until finally finding a generous heart that welcomed them.

In the Salesian context, this tradition calls us to reflect on our mission to be bearers of hope for young people and those in need. Just as Mary and Joseph sought refuge, today many people, especially young people, are searching for hope, support, and a place where they feel loved. The Rector Major’s Strenna 2025, with its theme “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with the Young”, reminds us that our role as the Salesian Family is to journey alongside them, illuminating their lives with faith and charity.

With this reflection in mind, we begin the Posadas stations, incorporating moments of meditation before each song, reminding ourselves of our mission to bring hope and love to the world.

First Station:

Reflection:
The first station places us at the beginning of Mary and Joseph’s journey, where they faced rejection after rejection.

Canto:
F.
