How can we engage youth when life pulls them toward risk and uncertainty? How do we stay faithful to the Salesian spirit in a rapidly changing world?

The participants bravely named these realities and proposed clear steps forward, from forming alliances with mental health organizations to adopting trauma-informed educational practices that truly meet young people where they are. “Caring for the caregivers is caring for the future.”

From Local Roots to a Global Dream

The encounter closed with a profound reflection on the power of networking, the beauty of intercultural exchange, and the urgency of building systems that support long-term impact.

Each center brings something unique to the table:

The Salesian Family Youth Center (Los Angeles) provides safe spaces and empowering after-school programs in one of the city’s most diverse neighborhoods.

The Don Bosco Community Center (Port Chester) offers essential educational, social, and pastoral services to immigrant families building a better future.

Together, they embody the living spirit of Don Bosco’s dream: a world where every young person has the opportunity to grow, belong, and thrive.

Walk With Us

This encounter is just the beginning. We invite you to stay connected, celebrate every small victory, and support a mission that transforms lives, one young heart at a time. Together, we are stronger. Together, we are Salesians.

Ready to walk with us?
