(Los Angeles, California)<\/strong> – June is shaping up to be an incredibly active and inspiring month for the \u201cActs of Mercy\u201d team at the Salesian Mission Center in Boyle Heights! We are participating in two special outreach efforts to serve the unhoused and support the youth in our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, June 22, 2025 \u2014 Humanity Heroes Block Party<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re proud to join Humanity Heroes<\/strong> for their annual Block Party, where they distribute their well-known red backpacks<\/strong> filled with essential supplies for the unhoused. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our contribution? Over 100 fleece blankets<\/strong> will be handed out to those living on Skid Row<\/strong>, just 7 miles from our Mission Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration was made possible through our new connection with Mr. Kevin Call<\/strong>, known affectionately as the \u201cMayor of Skid Row.\u201d<\/em> Be sure to look him up on YouTube\u2014his story is powerful and moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, June 28, 2025 \u2014 Burrito Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We return for our sixth month<\/strong> of service through the Burrito Project<\/strong>. Two teams will gather at 9:00 AM <\/strong>to prepare 200 burritos<\/strong> for distribution in the local area, especially across the street in Hollenbeck Park<\/strong>, where many unhoused individuals live in makeshift shelters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are especially grateful to the youth from St. Dominic Savio<\/strong>, who will be joining us again to help prepare the burritos\u2014this is their second time volunteering, and their support is deeply appreciated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We could not do this work without the generosity of our benefactors\u2014those who donate money, food, and time to make these acts of mercy possible each month. Thank you for standing with us in service to those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
