(Watsonville, California)<\/strong> – It has been wonderful to celebrate the month of May with various demonstrations of affection to the Virgin under the titles of Fatima and Our Lady Help of Christians. Let us not fail to participate in the Eucharist celebrations at these events. The greatest gift we can offer the Mother of Heaven is to nourish ourselves with the Body and Blood of her Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traditionally, June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This feast was promoted in 1670, thanks to the revelations received by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who spread this devotion within the Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is said that, around 1870 and during the pontificate of Pius IX, a mother bid her son farewell as he left for war. She placed a piece of cloth she had embroidered on his chest, which was written: ‘He will return to you safe and sound, my love’. During bloody combat, the young man watched his comrades fall beside him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justly, a bullet struck his chest where that little piece of cloth was. Curiously, the bullet did not penetrate any further. Emotionally moved by the ‘stop’ of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the young man embraced his mother and told the Pope what had happened. The Pope blessed the protective insignia, saying, “Stop! The Heart of Jesus is with you!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From then on, Pope Pius IX used to say, “Preach and spread the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus everywhere; it will bring salvation to the world.” Then, the Pope asked Don Bosco to build a basilica dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome, which was completed in 1887. Don Bosco embraced this devotion with affection. Today, we continue to resonate with the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. A heart that loves all of us and shares the same affection. This month, we also celebrate Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the ‘Body and Blood of Christ.’ With this feast, we recognize the reality of His presence in the Eucharist, where we find the balm of love that renews dejected hearts. Yes, this month we celebrate two loves: one from the Sacred Heart, where we can lay our heads and find consolation, and the other, where we feed our souls with the Body of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detente, el coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas est\u00e1 contigo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ha sido muy bello celebrar el mes de mayo, con distintas expresiones de amor, tanto a las mam\u00e1s, como a la virgen, bajo el t\u00edtulo de F\u00e1tima y Auxiliadora de los Cristianos. No dejemos de participar en las celebraciones de la eucarist\u00eda en esos eventos, el mejor regalo que podemos compartir con la madre del cielo es alimentarnos con el cuerpo y la sangre de su hijo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tradicionalmente el mes de junio est\u00e1 dedicado al sagrado coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas, fiesta que fue promovida desde el a\u00f1o 1670, gracias a las revelaciones que recibi\u00f3 Santa Margarita Mar\u00eda Alacoque, propagando esta devoci\u00f3n en la Iglesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuenta la historia que hacia el a\u00f1o 1870, en tiempos del pontificado de Pio IX, una madre despidi\u00f3 a su hijo que part\u00eda para la guerra, coloc\u00e1ndole en su pecho un pedazo de pa\u00f1o que ella hab\u00eda dibujado, en donde estaba escrito: “\u00c9l te devolver\u00e1 sano y salvo mi cari\u00f1o.” El joven estuvo en combates sangrientos, viendo c\u00f3mo sus compa\u00f1eros ca\u00edan junto a \u00e9l, y justamente una bala hizo blanco en su pecho, en donde estaba ese pedacito de tela. Curiosamente, la bala no pas\u00f3 de ahi. El joven despu\u00e9s abraz\u00f3 a su madre, conmovido por el “detente” del Sagrado coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas hecho por su madre, – contando lo sucedi\u00f3 al Papa, el cual emocionado bendijo la insignia protectora diciendo: “detente, el coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas est\u00e1 contigo.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A partir de entonces, el Papa Pio IX sol\u00eda decir: “prediquen y difundan por todas partes la devoci\u00f3n al Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas, esta devoci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 la salvaci\u00f3n para el mundo.” Fue entonces cuando el Papa pide a Don Bosco construir una bas\u00edlica dedicada al Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas en Roma, siendo terminada en 1887. Devoci\u00f3n que Don Bosco abraz\u00f3 con cari\u00f1o. Hoy seguimos vibrando con el coraz\u00f3n amoroso de Jes\u00fas Sacramentado. Un coraz\u00f3n enamorado con nosotros con quien compartimos el mismo afecto. Este mes tambi\u00e9n celebraremos la Solemnidad de Corpus Christi, el “Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo, agradeciendo por su presencia real en la Eucarist\u00eda, en donde encontramos el b\u00e1lsamo de amor que renueva los corazones abatidos. Este mes celebramos dos amores, por un lado, el del Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas en quien es posible reclinar la cabeza dej\u00e1ndonos consolar por \u00e9l, y por otro, el alimento de nuestras almas que fortalece el camino al cielo, nutri\u00e9ndonos con Su Cuerpo y con Su Sangre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
