(ANS \u2013 Rome)<\/strong> \u2013 Today, June<\/strong> 24th<\/strong>, marks a significant day for the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco<\/strong>, as they celebrate their Foundation Day<\/strong> and the Feast of the Rector Major<\/strong>. This tradition dates back to the time of Don Bosco, when Carlo Gastini<\/strong>, along with the first Past Pupils, met Don Bosco to express their gratitude. It was during that moment that Don Bosco emphasized the true purpose of their foundation: to support and contribute to the Salesian Mission<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This message remains as relevant today as it was then,” emphasized Bryan Magro<\/strong>, the World President of the Confederation of Past Pupils<\/strong>. Conveying this heartfelt call to all Past Pupils across the globe, he affirmed: “We want all our Past Pupils to actively participate in the Salesian Mission, and that is the message and the wish of Don Bosco for us.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Confederation of Past Pupils<\/strong> gathered for its Executive Meeting<\/strong> at the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, from June<\/strong> 20\u201324<\/strong>. Present at the meeting were Peter Kovac<\/strong>, Secretary of the Confederation; Fr. Joan Llu\u00eds Play\u00e0<\/strong>, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family Secretariat; and Br. Dominic Duc Nam Nguyen<\/strong>, the World Delegate for the Past Pupils of Don Bosco. While others joined online, the discussions were fruitful and forward-looking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the day\u2019s highlights, World President Bryan Magro<\/strong>, together with his team, met the Rector Major<\/strong> to present the revised statutes of the World <\/strong>Conf<\/strong>ederation of Past Pupils<\/strong>. These statutes are currently under the Rector Major\u2019s review for further suggestions and approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Magro also shared exciting news about the Confederation\u2019s upcoming initiative: the launch of the Carlo Gastini Foundation<\/strong>. This initiative will serve as a concrete way for Past Pupils to actively contribute to and support the Salesian Mission<\/strong>, embodying the spirit and legacy of Don Bosco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the ANS correspondent, Bryan Magro affirmed: “This day serves as a powerful reminder of the bond that unites the Past Pupils and the Salesian Congregation, and of the vital role that Past Pupils play in continuing Don Bosco\u2019s mission worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
