The Salesian Congregation, represented by Fr. Rafael Bejarano, the General Councillor for Youth Ministry, Fr. Mathew Thomas Panamkattu, the Representative of the Salesians of Don Bosco to the United Nations (UN), and a permanent team, is actively participating in this significant global event. This presence, supported by\u00a0<strong>Salesian Missions<\/strong>\u00a0of New Rochelle, highlights the Congregation\u2019s commitment to global Advocacy, particularly in connecting its work with the\u00a0<strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fr. Rafael Bejarano, Councillor for Youth Ministry, emphasized the deeply Salesian approach to promoting justice and peace, quoting Pope Paul VI:&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cDevelopment is the new name for peace\u201d<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;(Populorum Progressio). He stated: \u201cAs Salesians, we work tirelessly to create a society more worthy of the human person. Our Constitutions call us to collaborate with all those building a better and more just world.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Advocacy team of the Youth Ministry Sector is working at the forum to amplify the voices of the most marginalized youth worldwide. Across the five continents, Salesian environments\u2014<strong>Schools, Parishes, Centers for Vulnerable and Excluded Youth, Universities, Technical Training Centers, and Oratories<\/strong>\u2014operate with professionalism and apostolic passion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fr. Bejarano also highlighted the importance of the Salesian presence in international forums:&nbsp;<em>\u201cFor nearly two decades, the Salesians have maintained accredited representation at the European Union in Brussels through&nbsp;<strong>Don Bosco International (DBI)<\/strong>&nbsp;and at the United Nations in New York through&nbsp;<strong>Don Bosco Nations United (DB UN)<\/strong>.
