(ANS – Viedma)<\/strong>\u00a0– The diocese of Viedma, led by Salesian Bishop Esteban Mar\u00eda Laxague, invites people to participate in the 55th pilgrimage of faith to Chimpay, in commemoration of the young indigenous Blessed Ceferino Namuncur\u00e1, who formed and sanctified himself in Don Bosco’s school. The event will have as its motto: \u2018With Ceferino we walk together, pilgrims of hope\u2019 and will take place from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31 in the city of Chimpay, in the province of R\u00edo Negro, the birthplace of the young blessed. Also this year, on Monday, August 26, the 139th anniversary of the Blessed’s birth, some special activities will be held in preparation for the pilgrimage the following weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this very special 2025, moreover, the celebrations are being held in the light and perspective of the Jubilee of Hope and the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition to Argentina, sent by Don Bosco himself in 1875.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As is the case every year, in commemoration of the day of Ceferino Namuncur\u00e1’s birth, the program is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, August 26<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>liturgical memory of the Blessed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 11:00 a.m. Mass at the monument in Ceferino Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 16:00 Birthday Mass (followed by a party with cake, dancing, and music)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, August\u00a0 29<\/strong>(in Ceferino Park)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 11:00 Mass with blessing of children and families<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 16:00 Mass to welcome pilgrims<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 20:00 Prayer Vigil and testimonies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, August 30<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(in the Ceferinian Park)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 11:00 Mass of the Jubilee Year with sacraments for adults<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 15:00 Baptisms in the church<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 16:00 Mass at the monument<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 18:30 Prayer to Mary Help of Christians with young people in the chapel<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 19:00 Prayer together with Christ the Eucharist in the church<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 20:00 Prayer by the fire<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 21:00 Youth serenade to the earth (in the municipal sports hall)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, August 31<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 7:00 a.m. Prayer at dawn and community breakfast (on the V Centenary Cross Hill, road 22)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 8:00 a.m. Pilgrim’s Mass in the temple of the Ceferinian Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 9:00 a.m. Start of the pilgrimage from the 5th Centenary Cross Hill<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 11:00 a.m. Central Mass in Ceferino Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 13:00 p.m. Blessing and missionary sending out of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– 16:00 p.m. Farewell Mass for pilgrims in Ceferino Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an offering to Blessed Ceferin, the Diocese of Viedma urges pilgrims to help with non-perishable foodstuffs, clothing, or footwear for the needy in the diocese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The communiqu\u00e9 from the Bishop of Viedma also informs the faithful and pilgrims that priests will be available throughout the weekend for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and invites pilgrims coming from afar not to delay in organizing their pilgrimage, as accommodation and transport in the area may not be sufficient for the large number of people expected.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
