Held during the Jubilee Year of Hope, the gathering was both a tribute to the pioneers of the past and an invitation to rekindle the Salesian mission today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Missionary Bonfire of Gratitude<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event honored the arrival of the first Salesian missionaries to Argentina, who brought with them the fire of faith and the spirit of Don Bosco\u2019s Oratory. Around the bonfire, participants expressed deep gratitude for the legacy of these trailblazers while renewing their commitment to the mission. Horacio Barbieri SDB, attendees divided into small groups to reflect on two central questions: \u201cWhat missionary expressions do I see in my community?\u201d and \u201cWhat missionary expressions do I see in myself?\u201d This reflective time was further enriched by three notable contributions. Fr. N\u00e9stor Zubeld\u00eda SDB led a formation session centered on a historic photo of Don Bosco with his missionaries, using it to connect participants with the roots of the Salesian mission in Argentina. Fr. Juan Pablo Albeiro SDB, speaking from San Nicol\u00e1s de los Arroyos\u2014the site of the Salesians\u2019 arrival in 1875\u2014shared details about commemorative activities planned for the year. Finally, Daiana Vergara, a missionary in the Peruvian Amazon since April 2024, delivered the traditional \u201cGoodnight\u201d talk, challenging participants to reflect on their personal encounters with Jesus and their missionary responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>150 Years: From Celebration to Action<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The anniversary was framed not as a simple \u201cevent\u201d but as a \u201cfiesta,\u201d a celebration that fosters connection and community. As one speaker emphasized, \u201cEvents can be massive, but a fiesta creates connection. It invites us to prepare our hearts, forgive, and celebrate what brought us here, inspiring us to continue our mission with renewed energy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Salesian Missionary Bonfire served as a powerful tribute to the past while also acting as a beacon for the future.
