The group, five men and five women from seven U.S. states, completed a three-week orientation program that included prayer, cultural preparation, practical experience at St. John Bosco Parish in Port Chester, and a retreat alongside Salesians. Presiding over the ceremony, Fr. Dominic Tran, SDB, provincial, urged the volunteers to be &#8220;instruments of God\u2019s plan and love,&#8221; bringing hope and life to the poor. The missionaries will serve in three African countries, two Asian nations, one European mission, one Central American mission, and two U.S.-based works.
