Our Scriptural prayer this Holy Family Sunday leads us to trace God\u2019s place, His guidance, and His authority in the family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. First, we might notice that the opening reading from Sirach turns the family’s name around. It becomes Joseph, Mary, and Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Paul, much in the Old Testament style of Sirach, does refer to wives as \u2018subordinate\u2019 to husbands in the family structure, but he also holds that husbands treat their wives with all important love, calling it \u2018the bond of perfection\u2019 and the source of \u2018Christ\u2019s peace\u2019 within the \u2018one body,\u2019 the Church, growing family of God Should Paul need forgiveness, it is well to note that this same passage where many virtues such as kindness and gentleness in the community are extolled, forgiveness is given separate notice. It is a strong part of the Christian mentality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent days, St. Luke\u2019s Gospel recorded Mary as the one to whom God sent the angel Gabriel to announce His will to take flesh among us, but it is Joseph to whom God communicates through \u2018the angel\u2019 in three decisive moments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Joseph, a just and righteous man, was confronted with the mystery of Mary\u2019s pregnancy, God stepped in through the same angel to take Mary as his wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Herod was tricked by the magi and sought to \u2018destroy\u2019 the Child Jesus, the same angel communicated God\u2019s will to Joseph that he flee to Egypt with Mary and Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the danger to the Child past, it was again God\u2019s will and Joseph\u2019s task to guide Mary and Jesus to make Nazareth their home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sacred Scriptures have led us not to lessen the glory of Jesus and Mary: Jesus is God become Man. Mary is the Virgin Mother of God. Joseph is given his honorable place as head of the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una Familia \u00danica<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nuestra oraci\u00f3n b\u00edblica este domingo de la Sagrada Familia nos lleva a rastrear el lugar de Dios, Su gu\u00eda y autoridad en la familia de Jes\u00fas, Mar\u00eda y Jos\u00e9. Primero, podr\u00edamos notar que la lectura inicial de Sirach cambia el nombre de la familia. Se convierte en Jos\u00e9, Mar\u00eda y Jes\u00fas.

San Pablo, muy al estilo del Antiguo Testamento de Sirach, se refiere a las esposas como ‘subordinadas’ a los maridos en la estructura familiar, pero tambi\u00e9n sostiene que los maridos traten a sus esposas con amor sumo, llam\u00e1ndolo ‘el v\u00ednculo de perfecci\u00f3n’ y la fuente de la ‘paz de Cristo’ dentro del ‘\u00fanico cuerpo’. la Iglesia, familia creciente de Dios Si Pablo necesita perd\u00f3n, conviene se\u00f1alar que este mismo pasaje donde se ensalzan muchas virtudes como la bondad y la gentileza en la comunidad, el perd\u00f3n recibe atenci\u00f3n aparte. Es una parte fuerte de la mentalidad cristiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En d\u00edas recientes, el Evangelio de San Lucas registr\u00f3 a Mar\u00eda como aquella a quien Dios envi\u00f3 al \u00e1ngel Gabriel para anunciar su voluntad de tomar carne entre nosotros, pero es a Jos\u00e9 a quien Dios comunica a trav\u00e9s de ‘el \u00e1ngel’ en tres momentos decisivos:
Cuando Jospeh, hombre justo y justo, se enfrent\u00f3 al misterio del embarazo de Mar\u00eda, Dios intervino a trav\u00e9s del mismo \u00e1ngel para tomar a Mar\u00eda como esposa.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuando Herodes fue enga\u00f1ado por los magos y busc\u00f3 ‘destruir’ al Ni\u00f1o Jes\u00fas, el mismo \u00e1ngel comunic\u00f3 la voluntad de Dios a Jos\u00e9 para que huyera a Egipto con Mar\u00eda y Jes\u00fas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con el peligro para el Ni\u00f1o pasado, de nuevo era la voluntad de Dios y la tarea de Jos\u00e9 guiar a Mar\u00eda y Jes\u00fas para que hicieran de Nazaret su hogar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las Sagradas Escrituras nos han llevado a no disminuir la gloria de Jes\u00fas y Mar\u00eda: Jes\u00fas es Dios hecho Hombre. Mar\u00eda es Virgen Madre de Dios. A Jos\u00e9 se le concede su honorable lugar como cabeza de familia.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
