Fabio Attard<\/strong>, who will undertake an animation visit to India<\/strong> from February 5\u201317, 2026<\/strong>. His presence among Salesians<\/strong>, young people, educators, past pupils, and members of the Salesian Family<\/strong> is eagerly awaited as a time of grace and blessing, renewing bonds of communion and fraternity and strengthening the shared mission inspired by Don Bosco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rector Major\u2019s<\/strong> visit will unfold across three Salesian Provinces<\/strong>\u2014Kolkata<\/strong>, New Delhi<\/strong>y Chennai<\/strong>\u2014each offering a unique context for encounter, animation, and renewal. Across communities, schools, parishes, and formation houses, the visit will reaffirm the Rector Major\u2019s<\/strong> role as a father and guide, walking closely with his confreres and with the young.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Province of St. John Bosco, Kolkata (February 5\u20138, 2026)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The visit will begin in the Province of St. John Bosco, Kolkata<\/strong>, where the Rector Major<\/strong> will arrive on February 5<\/strong>. His initial engagements at the Provincial House<\/strong> will include moments of prayer and fraternity, as well as a meeting with the Provincial Council<\/strong>, setting a reflective and pastoral tone for the days ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his stay, the Rector Major<\/strong> will visit Siliguri<\/strong> y Azimganj<\/strong>, meeting young people, educators, Salesians<\/strong>, and members of the Salesian Family<\/strong>. He will address school and college students, celebrate the Holy Eucharist<\/strong> with local communities, and take part in cultural programs that reflect the missionary vitality and intercultural richness of the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the significance of the visit, Fr. Joseph Pauria, SDB<\/strong>, Provincial of Kolkata<\/strong>, observed:

The Kolkata<\/strong> visit will conclude on February 8<\/strong> with a meeting of Salesian Family<\/strong> representatives and the installation of the new Inspector<\/strong>, Fr. Sunil Kerketta<\/strong>, followed by the celebration of the Eucharist<\/strong> and a cultural program at Don Bosco Park Circus<\/strong>, bringing together youth, past pupils, and well-wishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Province of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, New Delhi (February 9\u201313, 2026)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

From Kolkata<\/strong>, the Rector Major<\/strong> will proceed to the Province of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, New Delhi<\/strong>, arriving on February 9, 2026<\/strong>. The visit will open with a warm welcome at the Provincial House<\/strong> and the celebration of the Eucharist<\/strong> with the Salesian Family<\/strong> en la DBTI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program in the New Delhi Province<\/strong> places a strong emphasis on animation, formation, and mission. The Rector Major<\/strong> will meet with the Provincial Council<\/strong>, address rectors and confreres, and interact with staff, students, past pupils, and formation communities. His pastoral journey will take him to Alaknanda<\/strong>, SPCI House<\/strong>, Holy Child Auxilium School<\/strong> in Vasant Vihar<\/strong>, and to Salesian<\/strong> communities in Ranchi<\/strong>, Kokar<\/strong>, Gumla<\/strong>y Hatia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on the visit, Fr. Davis Maniparamben, SDB<\/strong>, Provincial of New Delhi<\/strong>, stated:

A significant moment will be the laying of the foundation stone for a new school wing at Don Bosco Gumla<\/strong>, symbolizing hope and a long-term commitment to the education of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Province of St. Thomas the Apostle, Chennai (February 13\u201317, 2026)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The final phase of the visit will take place in the Province of St. Thomas the Apostle, Chennai<\/strong>, from February 13\u201317, 2026<\/strong>. The Rector Major<\/strong> will meet with the Inspector<\/strong> y Council<\/strong>, address rectors and community leaders, and interact with young people from the Chennai<\/strong> y Pondicherry<\/strong> regions. Pastoral visits to Polur<\/strong>, Vellore<\/strong>y Tirupattur<\/strong>\u2014including formation and educational centers\u2014will provide moments of encouragement for formators, formees, educators, and the wider Salesian Family<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rector Major\u2019s<\/strong> participation in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur<\/strong>, will add a celebratory dimension, highlighting the enduring educational mission of the Salesians<\/strong> in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
