The facility includes a <strong>300-seat auditorium<\/strong> and a <strong>library<\/strong> that will serve as spaces for learning, leadership formation, and community activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ceremony was attended by representatives of the <strong>Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI)<\/strong>, dirigido por <strong>Ms. Amaya Cristina Aboitiz-Fansler<\/strong>, <strong>RAFI<\/strong> President and CEO, along with Salesian leaders: <strong>Fr. Fidel Ma. Orendain, SDB<\/strong>, <strong>Fr. Rafael Bejarano, SDB<\/strong>, <strong>Fr. William Matthews, SDB<\/strong>y <strong>Fr. Amelito Narciso Racelis, SDB<\/strong>, Provincial Superiors from <strong>East Asia and Oceania<\/strong>, Salesians, faculty members, students, and partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his opening remarks, <strong>Rev. Fr. Randolph A. Figuracion, SDB<\/strong>, Rector and President of <strong>DBTC \u2013 Cebu<\/strong>, welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of the new facility for the school community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The formal inauguration was marked by a <strong>ribbon-cutting ceremony<\/strong> led by <strong>Ms. Amaya Cristina Aboitiz-Fansler<\/strong>, together with Salesian leaders and <strong>RAFI<\/strong> executives. This was followed by the unveiling of commemorative markers honoring the late <strong>Roberto Eduardo M. Aboitiz<\/strong>, whose <strong>Bugsay Philosophy<\/strong> inspired the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Bugsay Philosophy<\/strong> teaches that each person holds a \u201cbugsay,\u201d or paddle, symbolizing the responsibility to guide one\u2019s life with courage, wisdom, and purpose. It encourages individuals to take an active role in shaping their future and contributing to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The partnership between the <strong>Aboitiz<\/strong> family and <strong>Don Bosco Cebu<\/strong> spans nearly <strong>70 years<\/strong>. It began when <strong>Don Ramon Aboitiz<\/strong> donated the <strong>4.5-hectare<\/strong> property where the school now stands, establishing a long-standing relationship of support for education and youth formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the inauguration, <strong>Rev. Fr. William Matthews, SDB<\/strong>, Regional Councilor for <strong>East Asia and Oceania<\/strong>, presided over the <strong>blessing of the center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program then continued in the auditorium with messages from key partners. <strong>Rev. Fr. Fidel Ma. D. Orendain, SDB<\/strong>, General Councilor for <strong>Social Communications<\/strong>, former <strong>FIS Provincial Superior<\/strong>, and former Rector of <strong>DBTC Cebu<\/strong>, spoke about the collaboration behind the project and its impact on the formation of young leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A message of gratitude was delivered by <strong>Jerard Rhaymund Ursal<\/strong>, a <strong>Grade 11<\/strong> student, on behalf of the project\u2019s beneficiaries. <strong>Ms. Amaya Cristina Aboitiz-Fansler<\/strong> also shared remarks on the continuing partnership between <strong>RAFI<\/strong> y <strong>Don Bosco Cebu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ceremony concluded with the <strong>ceremonial turnover<\/strong> of the <strong>Bugsay Leadership Center<\/strong>, with <strong>Ms. Aboitiz-Fansler<\/strong> formally handing over the facility to <strong>Fr.
