{"id":31759,"date":"2026-06-12T17:53:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T00:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salesianbulletin.org\/?p=31759"},"modified":"2026-06-12T17:53:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T00:53:09","slug":"a-bridge-between-european-institutions-and-the-local-community-director-general-of-the-european-commissions-dg-empl-visits-borgo-ragazzi-don-bosco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salesianbulletin.org\/es\/2026\/06\/12\/a-bridge-between-european-institutions-and-the-local-community-director-general-of-the-european-commissions-dg-empl-visits-borgo-ragazzi-don-bosco\/","title":{"rendered":"A Bridge Between European Institutions and the Local Community: Director-General of the European Commission\u2019s DG EMPL Visits Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>(ANS \u2013 Rome) \u2013<\/strong> On the afternoon of <strong>June 4<\/strong>, the <strong>Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco<\/strong> Salesian center in Rome welcomed <strong>Dr. Mario Nava<\/strong>, Director-General of the <strong>Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL)<\/strong> of the <strong>European Commission<\/strong>, accompanied by representatives of the <strong>European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA)<\/strong> and a delegation from the <strong>Lazio Region\u2019s Directorate for Education, Training, and Employment Policies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit provided an important opportunity to meet and engage with the young people and staff of the Salesian center while learning firsthand about the project <strong>\u201cIn V.O.L.O. \u2013 Living Beyond Obstacles,\u201d<\/strong> which was implemented through the <strong>Lazio Region Operational Program \u2013 European Social Fund (2014\u20132020 Programming Period).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the tour of the facility, <strong>Dr. Nava<\/strong> met directly with young people participating in the center\u2019s educational and vocational training programs, listening to their experiences and personal testimonies. The discussions highlighted the value of an integrated and personalized system of educational, guidance, and support services capable of making a meaningful impact on the personal, relational, and social development of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delegation was welcomed by <strong>Fr. Emanuele De Maria<\/strong>, Director of <strong>Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco<\/strong>y <strong>Fr. Elio Cesari<\/strong>, Director of the <strong>National Center for Salesian Works (CNOS)<\/strong> and a member of <strong>Don Bosco International<\/strong>, who conveyed the official greetings of the <strong>Congregaci\u00f3n Salesiana<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting was part of a broader collaborative effort initiated through dialogue promoted by <strong>Don Bosco International<\/strong> el <strong>May 5<\/strong> in <strong>Brussels<\/strong>, during a meeting between <strong>Dr. Mario Nava<\/strong>, members of his staff, and representatives of Salesian organizations, including <strong>Fr. Elio Cesari<\/strong> (<strong>CNOS<\/strong>), <strong>Fr. Francesco Preite<\/strong> (<strong>Salesians for Social<\/strong>), <strong>Fr.
