(Bellflower, California)<\/strong> \u2013 On June 12, 2026, the Salesian Cooperators (Spanish group) of the St. Dominic Savio Local Center in Bellflower, California, welcomed approximately 40-50 children, parents, and community members to a special Family Movie Night featuring the inspiring film Wonder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rooted in the Salesian spirit of creating welcoming environments where young people feel loved and valued, the event offered much more than a movie. Through fellowship, refreshments, creative activities, and faith-filled reflection, participants were invited to explore the film’s central message of kindness, acceptance, and human dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The movie Wonder tells the story of Auggie Pullman, a young boy born with facial differences who faces the challenges of entering school while teaching those around him the true meaning of courage, friendship, and compassion. As families watched together, they were reminded that every person has value and deserves to be treated with respect and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To extend the message beyond the screen, we, the Salesian Cooperators created an interactive reflection experience inspired by the film. Children and adults received themed keepsakes and were invited to visit a special display board after the movie. At its center was a mirror accompanied by the message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“See What God Sees and Loves: You.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The display encouraged participants to look beyond outward appearances and recognize themselves as beloved children of God. Additional messages reminded visitors that they are “Wonderfully Made,” “Deeply Loved,” and “Unique.” Many paused to reflect, smile, and take photos, creating meaningful moments that connected the film’s message with the Gospel truth that each person is created in God’s image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event beautifully reflected Don Bosco’s conviction that every young person is a gift from God and that our mission is to help them recognize their dignity, goodness, and potential. Through community, joy, and faith, the evening became a practical expression of the Salesian charism of accompaniment and loving-kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The St. Dominic Savio Salesian Cooperators are grateful to all who attended. As participants departed, they carried with them a simple but powerful reminder: when God looks at us, He sees His beloved children, worthy of love, kindness, and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vi\u00e9ndonos a Trav\u00e9s de los Ojos de Dios: Una Noche Llena de Maravilla en Santo Domingo Savio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El pasado 12 de junio de 2026, los Salesianos Cooperadores (Grupo Espa\u00f1ol) del Centro Local Santo Domingo Savio de Bellflower, California, dieron la bienvenida a aproximadamente cuarenta a cincuenta ni\u00f1os, padres de familia y miembros de la comunidad para una Noche de Cine Familiar con la inspiradora pel\u00edcula Wonder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arraigado en el esp\u00edritu salesiano de crear ambientes donde los j\u00f3venes se sientan acogidos, amados y valorados, el evento ofreci\u00f3 mucho m\u00e1s que una pel\u00edcula. A trav\u00e9s de la convivencia, los refrigerios, actividades creativas y momentos de reflexi\u00f3n, los participantes fueron invitados a profundizar en el mensaje central de la pel\u00edcula: la bondad, la aceptaci\u00f3n y la dignidad de cada persona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wonder narra la historia de Auggie Pullman, un ni\u00f1o nacido con diferencias faciales que enfrenta los desaf\u00edos de integrarse a una nueva escuela. A lo largo de su camino, ense\u00f1a a quienes lo rodean el verdadero significado de la valent\u00eda, la amistad y la compasi\u00f3n. Mientras las familias compart\u00edan esta experiencia, fueron recordadas de que toda persona posee un valor inmenso y merece ser tratada con respeto y amor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para prolongar el mensaje m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la pantalla, preparamos una experiencia interactiva de reflexi\u00f3n inspirada en la pel\u00edcula. Los asistentes recibieron recuerdos con mensajes y fueron invitados a visitar un mural especial al finalizar la funci\u00f3n. En el centro de la exhibici\u00f3n se encontraba un espejo acompa\u00f1ado por el mensaje:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMira lo que Dios ve y ama: T\u00da.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta sencilla pero profunda invitaci\u00f3n anim\u00f3 a ni\u00f1os y adultos a mirar m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las apariencias y reconocerse como hijos amados de Dios. Otros mensajes recordaban a los participantes que son \u201cMaravillosamente Hechos\u201d, \u201cProfundamente Amados\u201d y \u201c\u00danicos\u201d. Muchos se detuvieron para reflexionar, sonre\u00edr y tomarse fotograf\u00edas, creando momentos significativos que conectaron el mensaje de la pel\u00edcula con la verdad del Evangelio: cada persona ha sido creada a imagen y semejanza de Dios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La actividad reflej\u00f3 de manera especial la convicci\u00f3n de Don Bosco de que cada joven es un regalo de Dios y que nuestra misi\u00f3n es ayudarle a descubrir su dignidad, bondad y potencial. A trav\u00e9s de la alegr\u00eda, la convivencia y la fe compartida, la noche se convirti\u00f3 en una expresi\u00f3n concreta del carisma salesiano de acompa\u00f1amiento y amor educativo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Salesianos Cooperadores de Santo Domingo Savio agradecen a todos los asistentes. Al concluir la velada, los participantes se llevaron consigo un mensaje sencillo pero poderoso: cuando Dios nos mira, ve a sus hijos amados, dignos de amor, bondad y respeto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
