(ANS \u2013 Campo Grande)<\/strong> \u2013 Fr. Rafael Bejarano<\/strong>, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, began an Animation Visit to the St. Alphonsus Liguori Province<\/strong> in Campo Grande, Brazil (BCG),<\/strong> el Saturday, June 20, 2026<\/strong>, launching a full schedule of meetings and celebrations. His first stop was Cuiab\u00e1<\/strong>, the capital of Mato Grosso<\/strong>, where the Salesian mission first took root 132 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanied by the Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, Fr. Aldir da Silva<\/strong>, and members of the provincial youth ministry team, Andr\u00e9 Esp\u00edndola<\/strong> y J\u00falia Beatriz<\/strong>, Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> visited Salesian communities, schools, and youth groups, listening to local concerns and strengthening relationships. As the worldwide leader of Salesian Youth Ministry, he promotes fidelity to Don Bosco’s<\/strong> charism while encouraging initiatives dedicated to the evangelization and education of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He received a warm welcome in Cuiab\u00e1<\/strong>, where the Salesian community welcomed him in a spirit of fraternity. The program began with his participation in the celebration of the Eucharist at Nossa Senhora da Guia Parish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, June 21<\/strong>, Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> celebrated Mass at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians<\/strong>, bringing together the faithful, educators, young people, and members of the Salesian Family. In the afternoon, the group visited several places that bear witness to Salesian history in Cuiab\u00e1<\/strong>, including parish communities, a social service center, and the Porto<\/strong> neighborhood, where the memory of the first Salesian missionaries to arrive in the city is preserved. The day also included meetings with youth groups and members of the Salesian oratory. In the evening, Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> celebrated Mass at S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo do Porto Parish<\/strong>, concelebrated by the pastor, Fr. Iden\u00edlson Lemes da Concei\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong>y Fr. S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo Salesian School<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, June 22<\/strong>, S\u00e3o Gon\u00e7alo Salesian School<\/strong> opened its doors for a day of listening and fellowship. Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> met with school leaders, students, and staff, gaining firsthand insight into the educational and pastoral life supported by the Salesian mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> invited the young people to reflect on a direct question: “What is your dream?”<\/em> The exercise encouraged students to think about their future, embrace hope and courage, and recognize the role of education in developing their talents. Fr. Aldir da Silva<\/strong> then spoke to the students about vocational discernment and building a life plan rooted in Christian values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the day’s most meaningful moments was a theatrical performance by students portraying the life of St. John Bosco<\/strong>, highlighting his dedication to education and his commitment to the evangelization of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day concluded with a sporting event at Santo Ant\u00f4nio Salesian School<\/strong>, bringing together young people from Nossa Senhora da Guia Parish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santo Ant\u00f4nio Salesian School<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, June 23<\/strong>, the visit continued at Santo Ant\u00f4nio Salesian School<\/strong> in the Coxip\u00f3 da Ponte<\/strong> neighborhood. Among the day’s meetings was a special encounter with the school’s director, Fr. Gildasio Mendes<\/strong>, former General Councillor for Social Communication of the Salesian Congregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The schedule also included a visit to Nossa Senhora da Guia Parish<\/strong>, where Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> participated in the recording of a video invitation for Aviva Jovem<\/strong>, an event scheduled for June 26<\/strong> at the Santa Rita de C\u00e1ssia Community<\/strong>. Joined by the parish pastor, Fr. Wellinton Francisco<\/strong>, Fr. Aldir da Silva<\/strong>y Fr. Gildasio Mendes<\/strong>, Fr. Bejarano<\/strong> personally invited young people to participate and confirmed that he would be attending the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr. Bejarano’s<\/strong> visit to the Salesian communities of the BCG Province<\/strong> will continue through June 28, 2026<\/strong>, further strengthening the ties between the Congregation and the province’s educational, pastoral, and parish communities.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
