Mathew Thomas Panamkattu<\/strong>, <strong>Fr. Thomas Pallithanam<\/strong>y <strong>Fr. Thomas Brennan<\/strong>, whose service helped strengthen the <strong>Salesian<\/strong> presence within the <strong>United Nations<\/strong> system in <strong>New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This transition represents both continuity and renewal in a mission that connects the lived experience of <strong>Salesian<\/strong> ministries around the world with international dialogue and decision-making on the rights, dignity, and future of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Angelica \u201cVivi\u201d Iglesias<\/strong> brings extensive experience in Catholic advocacy, partnership development, community engagement, and mission-driven leadership. She previously served with <strong>Catholic Relief Services<\/strong>, where she worked alongside national partners, supported advocacy initiatives, and coordinated campaigns on behalf of vulnerable communities. Her earlier ministry with the <strong>Diocese of St. Petersburg<\/strong> in <strong>Florida<\/strong>, particularly in Hispanic ministry and in support of diocesan leadership, also provided her with broad experience in Church leadership, intercultural communication, and pastoral ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A longtime <strong>Salesian Cooperator<\/strong> with deep ties to the <strong>Salesian<\/strong> mission and youth ministry, <strong>Ms. Iglesias<\/strong> will strengthen the <strong>Salesian<\/strong> presence at the <strong>United Nations<\/strong> through relationship-building, networking, documentation, continuity, and collaboration with partners throughout the UN community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She joins the <strong>Salesians\u2019<\/strong> central Advocacy Team within the <strong>Youth Ministry Sector<\/strong>, under the leadership of <strong>Fr. Rafael Bejarano<\/strong>, General Councilor for <strong>Youth Ministry<\/strong>, and will work through <strong>Salesian Missions<\/strong>, the congregation\u2019s representative agency to the <strong>United Nations<\/strong>, dirigido por <strong>Fr. Michael Conway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Salesian<\/strong> presence at the <strong>United Nations<\/strong> in <strong>New York<\/strong> is part of a broader international commitment that also includes representation at the <strong>United Nations<\/strong> in <strong>Geneva<\/strong>, <strong>Vienna<\/strong>y <strong>Nairobi<\/strong>, as well as engagement with the <strong>European Union<\/strong> institutions in <strong>Brussels<\/strong> y <strong>UNESCO<\/strong> in <strong>Paris<\/strong>. Through these international offices, the <strong>Congregaci\u00f3n Salesiana<\/strong> seeks to bring the voices and experiences of young people\u2014especially those affected by poverty, exclusion, migration, conflict, limited access to education, and other forms of social vulnerability\u2014into dialogue with institutions and partners working for the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As this new chapter begins, the <strong>Youth Ministry Sector<\/strong> expressed its gratitude to <strong>Fr. Mathew Thomas Panamkattu<\/strong> for his years of dedicated service and welcomed <strong>Angelica \u201cVivi\u201d Iglesias<\/strong> as she assumes this important responsibility.
