At the Last Supper, Philip said to Jesus, \u201cShow us the Father and that will be enough for us.\u201d Jesus had been telling them He was about to leave them. Jesus replied, \u201cHave I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.\u201d Keep ever in mind that knowing Jesus is knowing God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prophet Zechariah in our first reading could well be read on Palm Sunday. It is a near-perfect portrait of the Savior-Messiah, our King, on His humble approach to Jerusalem. Old Testament and New are joined, revealing the same God\u2019s wondrous plan for humanity\u2019s salvation: \u201cShout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! (O Church) See, your king shall come to you; a just savior is he, meek, and riding on an ass ..whose dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.\u201d That\u2019s Jesus! None other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul comments on this Savior King. Deftly, he joins Godly blessings on those NOT dwelling in sinful flesh but in Christ. If one lives in the Spirit of Christ, one dwells equally in the Spirit of God. So, those raised from sin to life in Christ, count your reward: \u201cFor if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.\u201d In daily talk, \u201cIf you choose to live in sinfulness, you are doomed to lasting death. Shun sinfulness and rejoice in endless life. One with Jesus is one with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBlessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth; you have revealed to \u2018little ones\u2019 the mysteries of the kingdom.\u201d These words of Jesus are taken from the same source, Mt 11, where Jesus was speaking of the \u201clittle ones\u201d and their bond with the Father. They are those who act as children do with their fathers, quite naturally entrusting themselves to God, the Father\u2019s hand, their \u2018Daddy.\u2019 A humble spirit is a normal trait of the child of God. There is nothing so constant as humility found in all the Holy ones of the Lord. Want to be a Holy? Start by being humble.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Little ones\u2019 for Jesus were also those who labor and are burdened. If they turned to him, He would ease their burdens. \u201cCome to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.\u201d

Mi Rey y mi Dios<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

En la \u00daltima Cena, Felipe le dijo a Jes\u00fas: “Mu\u00e9stranos al Padre y eso nos bastar\u00e1.” Jes\u00fas les hab\u00eda estado diciendo que estaba a punto de dejarlos. Jes\u00fas respondi\u00f3: “\u00bfHe estado contigo tanto tiempo y a\u00fan no me conoces, Felipe? Quien me ha visto ha visto al Padre.” Recuerda siempre que conocer a Jes\u00fas es conocer a Dios.

El profeta Zacar\u00edas en nuestra primera lectura podr\u00eda leerse perfectamente en el Domingo de Ramos. Es un retrato casi perfecto del Salvador-Mes\u00edas, nuestro Rey en su humilde acercamiento a Jerusal\u00e9n. El Antiguo Testamento y el Nuevo se unen, revelando el maravilloso plan de Dios para la salvaci\u00f3n de la humanidad: “\u00a1Grita de alegr\u00eda, O hija Jerusal\u00e9n! (O Iglesia) Mira, vuestro rey vendr\u00e1 a vosotros; es un salvador justo, manso, y montado en un asno\u2026 cuyo dominio ser\u00e1 de mar a mar, y del r\u00edo hasta los confines de la tierra.” \u00a1Eso es Jes\u00fas! Nada menos.

Pablo comenta sobre este Rey Salvador. Con destreza une bendiciones piadosas a quienes NO habitan en carne pecaminosa sino en Cristo. Si uno vive en el Esp\u00edritu de Cristo, habita igualmente en el Esp\u00edritu de Dios. As\u00ed que, los que han resucitado del pecado a la vida en Cristo, contad vuestra recompensa: “Porque si viv\u00eds seg\u00fan la carne, morir\u00e9is, pero si por el Esp\u00edritu pon\u00e9is a muerte las obras del cuerpo, vivir\u00e9is.” En el lenguaje diario: “Si eliges vivir en pecado, est\u00e1s condenado a una muerte eterna. Rechaza la pecaminosidad y regoc\u00edjate en la vida eterna. Uno con Jes\u00fas es uno con Dios.\u00a0\u00a0

“Bendito eres, Padre, Se\u00f1or del cielo y de la tierra; has revelado a los ‘peque\u00f1os’ los misterios del reino.” Estas palabras de Jes\u00fas provienen de la misma fuente, San Mateo, cap\u00edtulo 11, donde Jes\u00fas hablaba de los “peque\u00f1os” y de su v\u00ednculo con el Padre. Son aquellos que act\u00faan como los ni\u00f1os con sus padres, confi\u00e1ndose naturalmente a Dios, la mano del Padre, su ‘Pap\u00e1’. Un esp\u00edritu humilde es un rasgo normal del hijo de Dios. No hay nada tan constante como la humildad que se encuentra en todos los Santos del Se\u00f1or. \u00bfQuieres ser un santo? Empieza siendo humilde.”

Los ‘peque\u00f1os’ para Jes\u00fas tambi\u00e9n eran aquellos que trabajaban y sufr\u00edan una carga. Si se volv\u00edan hacia \u00e9l, aliviar\u00eda sus cargas. “Venid a m\u00ed, todos los que labor\u00e1is y est\u00e1is cargados, y os dar\u00e9 descanso.”
‘\u00a1Se\u00f1or, en la vida mi bienestar, en la muerte mi vida!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
