The Book of Wisdom<\/strong>, written only a single lifetime before Jes\u00fas<\/strong>, had spoken of the horrors of paganism, which God had justly punished. Yet God was good and lenient toward His chosen people. Indeed, God has punished disbelievers, but for those who believe in Him who sin, God does forgive, depending on one thing: they must repent! That is so important. We must not falsely depend on God\u2019s mercy alone and boldly go on sinning, counting on God\u2019s mercy. That would make our sinfulness even more sinful through the sin of presumption. Great danger!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Responsorial Psalm<\/strong>, dwell on the plea of one who recognizes the mercy and forgiveness of God and pleads<\/strong> to receive it from the good and forgiving God. But keep in mind that “IF!”<\/strong> we turn to Him in true sorrow, not with the false trust of insulting presumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps we fear that we may fail to find that spirit of repentance. Then listen to the age-old advice of St. Paul<\/strong>: “The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought.” We must never count on ourselves alone. The Spirit<\/strong> is ever ready to help us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We find Matthew\u2019s Gospel<\/strong> in the midst of several parables hammering home a similar theme: the Son of Man<\/strong> sows good seeds, which in time are expected to sprout as wheaten children of Heaven; along comes a stealthy evil one whose bad seeds sprout as weeds, children of Satan. The workers of Jes\u00fas<\/strong> want to tear out the weeds, but the Son of Man<\/strong> stopped them. He let the weeds grow together with the children of God, a true image of life as it is. In the end, the weeds will be tossed into the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Jes\u00fas<\/strong> tells of the tiny but good mustard seed. It sprouts to become a home for the birds of the sky\u2014us, His Church. Jes\u00fas<\/strong> added yet another parable, that of a woman who drops some yeast into dough and the whole<\/strong> mass is affected. “All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables. He spoke to them only in parables,” as was prophesied<\/strong> from of old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With that, Jes\u00fas<\/strong> went inside Peter\u2019s<\/strong> house and once again privately explained to the Apostles<\/strong> the details of all these images of the growth of the Kingdom of Heaven<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ah, good and lenient Divinity, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Lord, you are good and forgiving.” Only grant us the grace to repent.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perd\u00f3n y Cielo<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El Libro de la Sabidur\u00eda<\/strong>, escrito solo una vida antes de Jes\u00fas<\/strong>, hablaba de los horrores del paganismo que Dios castig\u00f3 justamente. Sin embargo, Dios fue bueno e indulgente con su pueblo elegido. En efecto, Dios ha castigado a los incr\u00e9dulos, pero para quienes creen en \u00c9l<\/strong> y pecan, Dios los perdona dependiendo de una cosa: \u00a1deben arrepentirse! Eso es muy importante. No debemos depender falsamente solo de la misericordia de Dios y seguir pecando con valent\u00eda, confiando en su misericordia. Eso har\u00eda que nuestra pecaminosidad fuera a\u00fan m\u00e1s pecaminosa por el pecado de la presunci\u00f3n. \u00a1Gran peligro!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el Salmo Responsorial<\/strong>, detente en la s\u00faplica de quien reconoce la misericordia y el perd\u00f3n de Dios y ruega recibirlos del Dios bueno y perdonador. Pero ten en cuenta que solo si<\/strong> nos dirigimos a \u00c9l con verdadero dolor, y no con la falsa confianza de una presunci\u00f3n insultante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quiz\u00e1 temamos no encontrar ese esp\u00edritu de arrepentimiento. Entonces escucha el antiguo consejo de San Pablo<\/strong>: \u00abEl Esp\u00edritu viene en ayuda de nuestra debilidad, porque no sabemos orar como deber\u00edamos\u00bb. Nunca debemos contar solo con nosotros mismos. El Esp\u00edritu<\/strong> est\u00e1 siempre dispuesto a ayudarnos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encontramos el Evangelio de Mateo<\/strong> en medio de varias par\u00e1bolas que martillan un tema similar: el Hijo del Hombre<\/strong> siembra buenas semillas que, con el tiempo, se espera que broten como hijos del cielo de trigo; llega un malvado sigiloso cuyas malas semillas brotan como malas hierbas, hijos de Satan\u00e1s. Los obreros de Jes\u00fas<\/strong> quieren arrancar las malas hierbas, pero el Hijo del Hombre<\/strong> los detuvo. Dej\u00f3 crecer las malas hierbas junto con los hijos de Dios, una verdadera imagen de la vida tal como es. Al final, las malas hierbas se tirar\u00e1n al fuego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luego Jes\u00fas<\/strong> habla de la peque\u00f1a pero buena semilla de mostaza. Brota para convertirse en un hogar para las aves del cielo \u2014nosotros, su Iglesia<\/strong>. Jes\u00fas<\/strong> a\u00f1adi\u00f3 otra par\u00e1bola, la de una mujer que deja caer levadura en la masa y toda<\/strong> la masa se ve afectada. \u00abTodas estas cosas Jes\u00fas las habl\u00f3 a las multitudes en par\u00e1bolas. Hablaba con ellos solo en par\u00e1bolas\u00bb, como se profetizaba<\/strong> desde anta\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con eso, Jes\u00fas<\/strong> entr\u00f3 en la casa de Pedro<\/strong> y una vez m\u00e1s explic\u00f3 en privado a los Ap\u00f3stoles<\/strong> los detalles de todas estas im\u00e1genes del crecimiento del Reino de los Cielos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ah, buena e indulgente Divinidad,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abSe\u00f1or, eres bueno y perdonador\u00bb. Solo conc\u00e9denos la gracia para arrepentirnos.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
