(ANS \u2013 Rome)<\/strong> \u2013 The Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard<\/strong>, with the consent of the other members of his Council, has appointed Fr. Guido Errico<\/strong> as the new Superior of the \u201cMaria Sede della Sapienza\u201d Vice Province, which encompasses the Salesian communities of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS)<\/strong> in Rome. Fr. Errico<\/strong> succeeds Fr. Jos\u00e9 An\u00edbal Milhais Pinto Mendon\u00e7a<\/strong>, who has led the Vice Province since September 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr. Guido Errico<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Guido Errico<\/strong> was born on December 29, 1969, in Campi Salentina, in the province of Lecce. He has been a Salesian since 1989. After receiving his formation in Italy, he has held various responsibilities within the Congregation over the years. Among his most recent assignments were Director of the Mother House of Mary Help of Christians<\/strong> in Turin-Valdocco (2017\u20132021), Rector of the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians<\/strong> (2019\u20132021), and Novice Master and Director of the community in Genzano, Rome (2021\u20132022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since September 2022, Fr. Guido Errico<\/strong> has been a member of the Formation Sector at the Salesian Generalate<\/strong> in Rome, where he has supported the provinces and formation houses of the Congregation in various parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vice Province \u201cMaria Sede della Sapienza\u201d (UPS)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Vice Province \u201cMaria Sede della Sapienza\u201d (UPS), canonically established in 1984, has its origins in the Salesian community founded in 1965, following the relocation of the Pontifical Salesian University<\/strong> from Turin-Rebaudengo to Rome, in the \u201cNuovo Salario\u201d district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike ordinary provinces, the Vice Province is not organized on a territorial basis but has a specific mission: through its religious community, it supports the academic activities of the Salesian Pontifical University<\/strong>, serving Salesians, members of the Salesian Family, priests, consecrated persons, and young people enrolled in the University\u2019s five faculties: Theology, Philosophy, Educational Sciences, Social Communication Sciences, and Christian and Classical Letters.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
