November Recap<\/strong><\/p>\n

SUO-SUE Joint Provincial Council Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"SUO-SUE<\/p>\n

On Nov 4 and 16 the US Delegates of Youth Ministry gathered together to prepare the report to present at the SUO-SUE joint provincial council meeting. On Nov 19-20 the councils met and during this meeting the report was given. The discussions included input given by Fr. Fabian Cardenas and Fr. Abraham Feliciano the Youth Ministry Delegates but also by Gina Robles the Youth Ministry Associate for SUO province.  They presented areas of collaboration within the Province Youth Ministry department and structures of animation. They also reflected on the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry and national conferences. During the Interamerica YM delegates meeting the Salesian Youth Movement was discussed and the ways that as a province there is a great desire to expand and promote unity within the movement.<\/p>\n

Training Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Training<\/p>\n

On Nov 07 a Training Workshop: Introduction to Facilitative Leadership was held online.<\/p>\n

Those that attended included the Salesian Youth Ministry Office and those that work in the Salesian Family Youth Center in East LA. This training provided insights on how to serve our communities better by learning what characterizes good leadership and how to work towards our goals.<\/p>\n

Visit to Saint Peter and Paul and Corpus Christi communities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Saint\"Saint<\/p>\n

On Nov 12 and Nov 13, Fr. Fabian Cardenas, the Province Youth Ministry Delegate, visited Saint Peter and Paul and Corpus Christi communities. There was dialogue with the director and CYM, moments of prayer and meditation on the first chapter of the frame of reference, and a survey on Salesian Youth Ministry in the Province.<\/p>\n

Province Youth Ministry Team Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Nov 13 there was a Province Youth Ministry Team Meeting and the focus was on the Parishes and Shrines entrusted to the Salesians. As a team they used the Frame of Reference to guide the conversations and reflections.<\/p>\n

Province Commission for Parishes<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Province<\/p>\n

On Nov 16 the Province Commission for Parishes joined together to reflect on the Frame of Reference: Parishes and Shrines entrusted to the Salesians. This commission includes the participation of salesians and lay people from different Salesian communities. In this meeting it was announced that Fr. Rafael Saiz, will be the new coordinator of parishes for the Province.<\/p>\n

Salesian 101<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Salesian<\/p>\n

On Nov. 21 the Salesian Youth Ministry Office hosted Salesian 101. The presenter was Fr. Joe Boenzi, SDB and he spoke about Salesian Identity. This workshop is part of a series of formation sessions to help Salesian educators, volunteers, and employees gain a better understanding of what it means to be Salesian and how to live it out. About 40 people joined this session.<\/p>\n

Province Animation Team<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"PAT\"<\/p>\n

On Nov 25, The Province Animation Team (PAT) gathered together. The Provincial, delegates, and the coordinators of the different departments and sectors with the Youth Ministry office, discuss the structure and objectives of the team to be presented to the provincial council.The team also discussed plans and projects for the future of Vocation animation.<\/p>\n
