A Night of Holiness and Prayer: Youth Celebrate St. Maria Troncatti

(ANS – Rome) – On Saturday, October 18, the eve of the canonization of St. Maria Troncatti, the Istituto San Giovanni Bosco FMA in Cinecittà became a vibrant center of faith and celebration. The day was marked by the “Festa della Santità,” a joyful event animated by the young people of MGS Italia (Salesian Youth Movement Italy). The festivities culminated in a solemn vigil at the Tempio Don Bosco, in preparation for the imminent canonization of the first FMA missionary saint.

A Moment of Salutation and Reflection

The vigil began with a warm welcome and an address by H.E. Mons. Pierantonio Tremolada, Bishop of Brescia, the diocese where Sr. Maria Troncatti was born. His words evoked a deep connection between the Saint’s roots and her mission, inspiring all present to reflect on her extraordinary journey of faith and service.

The vigil was presided over by Fr. Fabio Attard, SDB, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, who guided the assembly through moments of prayer, reflection, and gratitude.

Prayerful Reflections and a Story of Healing

The vigil featured profound moments of prayer and spiritual meditations, with a special reflection on the miraculous healing of Juwa Bosco, a pivotal event in the canonization process of Maria Troncatti. This testimony of divine intervention deeply moved those gathered, reaffirming the power of faith and intercession through the new saint.

The Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard, addressed the assembly, sharing words of encouragement and gratitude. He highlighted the enduring legacy of Maria Troncatti, whose life of missionary zeal continues to inspire the Salesian Family and the Church.

A Message of Hope and Missionary Spirit

The solemn vigil concluded with a heartfelt message from the Superior General of the FMAMother Chiara Cazzuola, who expressed her gratitude for the special moment of grace. She encouraged everyone to embrace the missionary spirit embodied by St. Maria Troncatti and to carry forward her legacy of love, service, and dedication to the young and the marginalized.

A Celebration of Holiness

The “Festa della Santità” and the vigil served as powerful reminders of the gift of holiness within the Salesian Family. The joyful participation of young people from MGS Italia added a vibrant and dynamic dimension to the event, bridging the joy of youth and the sanctity of the occasion.
