Last October 16th-18th, Fr. Vien and Mr. Adrian Fulay organized the Vocation Panel Presentations days at Salesian College Preparatory in Richmond. Together with Sr. Mary Link, Fr. Joe, Fr. Itchan, Br. Jorge, Salesian Cooperator Ms. Zuleyma Guardado and Candidate Joseph Vu graciously sat in for different panels on the religion classes. The presentation was delivered to individual instructors and classes as well as groups of religious classes.
Some of the panel questions included:
- How did you first get involved with the Salesians?
- How do you know what you are supposed to do or be in life?
- How has prayer helped you understand what your purpose in life is?
- For young people, what can you do to help them find out what they are supposed to do in life?”
The Salesian Family panels shared their own vocations and responses to the questions. Their answers encouraged deeper questions from the students making those moments even more personal and beneficial for where the youth are at in their own journey.
After meeting with the religion classes during those three days, Fr. Vien reminded everyone that the idea of having such an opportunity is beneficial for our Salesian community as a way to introduce ourselves to the students and beneficial for the students to start listening to their hearts, where God speaks to them, and calls on them to be in service for others and the world. Fr. Vien also hinted at the possibility of forming a missionary-service sodality or club if anyone is interested.
