Updates from Corpus Christi, St Bridget’s Chinese Catholic Community, and Don Bosco Technical Institute

Corpus Christi Church held a First Holy Communion Retreat and celebration of Reconciliation, Saturday, May 4, 2024. After two years of preparation 33 young people (ages 8-12) will celebrate their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 12th. Fr. Thom Thodukulam (bottom right) , Fr. Ed Liptak (bottom left), and Fr Tom Juarez heard confessions. Fr. Tom Juarez, SDB (top left) led the FHC Retreat and re-enactment of the Last Supper. 2nd year Religion Teachers are Yamilet Ortega, Regina Battad, and Sr. Mary Link ( Religious Education, Coordinator).

On May 4-5, 2024, St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Church held a Province Pastoral Council Leadership Formation Workshop facilitated by the pastor, Fr. Peter Pong, SDB, and Sr. Maria Lai, CSJ, Director of Religious Education. Parish leaders participated in large group sharing.

Congratulations to Don Bosco Tech’s own Phil Consuegra, Vice President of Development & Strategic Initiatives, who has earned his PhD in Organizational Leadership from USC Rossier School of Education! Tech President Memo Gutierrez was on hand to celebrate with Phil and his family at the doctoral hooding ceremony in USC’s McCarthy Quad on Friday, May 10, 2024
