(ANS – Guadalajara, Mexico) – May 2024 – An exhibition, “La Química de la Docenica” (“The Chemistry of Teaching”) was inaugurated on Tuesday, May 14 at the Salesian Anáhuac Garibaldi Institute. It is a presentation of the life of the Servant of God Arturo Álvarez, a teacher at the institute from 1966 to 1968. The event was attended by Guillermo Villarreal Chapa, responsible for the exhibition, the Superior of the Province of Mexico Guadalajara (MEG), Fr. Filiberto González, the Rector of the work, Fr. Carlos A. Montoya, and other school authorities. Arturo Álvarez (1935-1992) lived a life of teaching and love for his neighbor in everyday life, with a natural, sensitive, and generous spirit towards his neighbor, inspiring others by his example to live holiness in professional practice. Standing out among his qualities as a teacher were his teaching and fraternal correction, and the accompaniment of his students, some of the virtues that have put him on the path to holiness and that make him the first Mexican member of Opus Dei on his way to the altars. During the event, a former student of the Servant of God shared his testimony, and Fr González urged everyone to live holiness in daily life following Álvarez’s example.
