(ANS – Rome) – ‘Since the time set by the aforementioned decree has come to an end, as of today I cease to hold the office of Rector Major of the Society of St Francis de Sales’. In a short communiqué, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime declares that as of today, August 16, 2024, his mandate as Rector Major comes to an end. 

At the same time, his Vicar, Fr Stefano Martoglio, will take over the governance of the Society ad interim, until the election of the Rector Major, which will take place during the 29th General Chapter, convened in Turin from February 16 to April 12, 2024.
