Walking the Easter Triduum with a Salesian Heart

An Easter Message from the Salesian Network of Schools USA West

Querida Familia Salesiana:

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

As we approach the radiant joy of Easter, I write to you on behalf of our Province Salesian Network of Schools to extend to each of you a heartfelt thank you for the sacred work you do every day—educating, accompanying, and forming young hearts in the spirit of Don Bosco.

This Easter season reminds us that we are a Resurrection people. In the face of challenges, uncertainty, and the daily demands of our ministry, we carry within us the light and hope of the Risen Christ. Just as Don Bosco believed passionately in the potential of every young person — especially the most vulnerable — so too are we called to be signs and bearers of God’s boundless love and joy.

In each classroom, office, playground, and school, you make Christ present. Your presence, patience, and pastoral hearts are nothing short of a daily “Good Morning” from Jesus Himself to our students. What a grace! What a responsibility! What a joy!

This Easter, may you be renewed in spirit, inspired by the empty tomb, and uplifted by the knowledge that your work is not in vain. You are co-dreamers in Don Bosco’s dream — and that dream continues to unfold in every young person who finds a home, a family, and a future in our schools.

As we enter into this holy season, I also pray you take time to rest and to be with your own families and loved ones. Your vocation is a beautiful gift to others — but your heart and soul also deserve the peace and joy of Easter. May your homes be filled with laughter, warmth, and the quiet graces of God’s presence.

Let us continue to walk with Mary, the Help of Christians, whose faith never wavered even in the darkest hours and whose joy was complete in the Resurrection. May she guide us as true Salesian educators: reasoned, loving, and rooted in faith.

Thank you for the oratory experience you create and build every day — places of learning, belonging, and becoming.

With joy in the Risen Lord and the Salesian spirit, In Don Bosco,

Bro. Al Vu, SDB
