(ANS – Vatican City) – On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the Office for Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff issued the following notification regarding the Ordinary Public Consistory for the Voting on certain Causes of Canonization:
On Friday, June 13, 2025, at 9.00 a.m., in the Consistory Hall of the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Leo XIV will preside over the celebration of the Third Hour and the Ordinary Public Consistory for the Canonization of some Blesseds, including Maria Troncatti, professed religious of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
This Ordinary Public Consistory is the first of the Pontificate of Pope Leo XIV. This ceremony determines the final (of four distinct stages: Servant of God, Venerable, Blessed, and Saint) stage of the canonization process in which the Pope confirms the opinion of the Cardinals and sets the date on which the blessed will be proclaimed saints.
The other Blesseds to be canonized are:
– Ignatius Choukrallah Maloyan, Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Mardin, martyr;
– Peter To Rot, layman and catechist, martyr;
– Vincenza Maria Poloni, foundress of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy in Verona;
– Maria del Monte Carmelo Rendiles Martínez, foundress of the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus;
– José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, faithful laywoman;
– Pier Giorgio Frassati, faithful layman of the Third Order of St Dominic;
– Bartolo Longo, lay faithful.
The canonization of Sr. Maria Troncatti, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, is a cause for thanksgiving to God and great joy for the whole Salesian Family, as well as a sign of hope for her strong witness of transmitting life and faith to the new generations and to the indigenous peoples.
