By Rick Quintero, PhD –
(Los Angeles, California) – The Works of Mercy group at the Don Bosco Mission Center will be operating a bit differently in November. First, we will be preparing fewer burritos—only 200—and we will not be going to Skid Row. However, we will still distribute at our priority spot—the park across the street from the Center and the local Boyle Heights area. After that, we will head to Pomona where there is a large population of our unhoused neighbors.
Deacon John Cruz and his wife Debbie will help us identify the areas with the largest pockets of unhoused individuals, and Tammy Tran and her crew will assist them with distribution, similar to how Team #2 normally operates. We will also be taking out men’s clothing and any blankets we still have at the Center.
We will head out earlier this month. Team One will be at the Center by 8:00 AM to make burritos and Team Two will be there by 9:30 AM to distribute them. If you can assist with either team, please come!
In this season of gratitude, when we all count so many blessings, we thank you for your continued service and support!
