A Salesian Family Posada

(Bellflower, California) – On Tuesday, December 16, St. Dominic Savio Church hosted a beautiful Posada led by Anabelle Navarro. The community gathered and was reminded of what the Christmas season is all about….the coming of Jesus Christ. The children of all ages did a wonderful job in their performances. The songs were heartwarming, and the visuals were captivating. After the play, the community proceeded to the Parish Hall, where they were welcomed with warm beverages and sweet breads (donated by the Spanish Prayer Group). The adults were invited to take a seat while the children were invited to get in two lines in preparation for a chance to hit the piñatas (donated by the Spanish Salesian Cooperators). But before that, the Coordinator of the Spanish Cooperators, Armando Gonzales, gave an educational talk about the significance of the piñata and how it ties into the Catholic faith. After that, festive music played in the background as each child had their chance to hit the piñata and release some candy. Finally, small bags of candy (donated by ADMA) were given to the children so that no one went home empty-handed. It was a great evening of community, faith, service, joy, and teamwork by young and old alike… in other words, a true Salesian family gathering.
St. Dominic Savio Solvang /Chumash Trip

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, The St. Dominic Savio Salesian Cooperators (Spanish) hosted a fundraiser bus trip to the welcoming Danish town of Solvang, California. Located near Santa Barbara, this almost fairytale town full of Danish architecture, goods, culture, and more was waiting to be explored by two full buses of people. Complimentary coffee and sweet breads were given upon arrival at the Church. The bus ride was about two hours long but went by fast because each bus had various raffles and games to play to pass the time. Everyone had three hours to spend in the town of Solvang, as well as the adjacent Mission of St. Inez. After that, most people went to the casino down the street, known as the Chumash Casino. After a couple of hours there, we all finally departed back to Bellflower safely. It was truly a great experience and adventure!
