A Province Youth Ministry Team Announcement

(Los Angeles, California) – The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry Exchange is one of the Church’s premier gatherings for those serving young people. From February 1–4, 2026, in Louisville, KY, parish leaders, diocesan staff, and ministry professionals from across the country will come together for formation, collaboration, and renewal. Exchange is designed to strengthen the mission of youth and young adult ministry by grounding leaders in the Church’s vision while offering practical tools for today’s pastoral realities.

This year, JC Montenegro will be a featured presenter, offering a workshop titled The Evangelization Process: The Secret Source of Accompanying Youth

Exchange Workshop Proposal

The session highlights a core truth often overlooked in ministry models: authentic accompaniment flows from the Church’s evangelization process itself, not primarily from programs or events.

Drawing from the teachings of Paul VI, John Paul IIy Pope Francis, JC will explore how witness, dialogue, proclamation, and initial conversion form the foundation of effective ministry with young people. Participants will be invited to rediscover how these stages have been consistently affirmed by Church documents and how they respond directly to what young people are seeking today: real relationships, meaningful listening, and credible witnesses of faith.

Attendees can expect concrete, practical approaches for integrating this process into parish and school settings, creating environments where young people feel known, loved, and invited into a living relationship with Christ that leads to lifelong discipleship and mission.

JC’s presence at Exchange underscores the event’s commitment to formation that is both deeply rooted in the Church and responsive to the lived experience of today’s youth.
