Pierluigi Cameroni, received official notification that the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, during its Ordinary Congress on December 17, 2025, declared the diocesan inquiry into the Cause of Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Antonieta Böhm—a professed sister of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians—juridically valid.
Verification of the Inquiry
This recognition followed a thorough review of the formal aspects of the procedural acts and the coherence of the body of evidence, including the number and credibility of witnesses and the documentation collected. Antonieta Böhm was born in Bottrop, Westphalia (Germany), on September 22, 1907, and died in Coacalco, Mexico, on April 27, 2008.

“This is an important milestone, the result of the dedicated and competent work carried out by the members of the diocesan tribunal and all those who contributed, especially the Historical Commission and the Vice Postulator, Sr. María Guadalupe Chávez, FMA.”
Next Steps in the Cause
The next step will be to request that the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints appoint a Relator who will oversee the preparation of the Positio super virtutibus of the Servant of God. This document will be prepared by Dr. Mariafrancesca Oggianu, a collaborator of the Postulation.
Where the Inquiry Took Place
The diocesan inquiry was conducted at the Episcopal Curia of Cuautitlán, Mexico, from May 7, 2017, to April 28, 2024.
