(Boyle Heights, California) – Geared up with cards, markers, stickers, and love in their hearts, SFYC Troop 82563 set out with one mission: bring joy and kindness to the seniors in their community. The troop spent time over the course of 2 days working to make over 100 Valentine cards for Hollenbeck Towers, an assisted living senior facility that caters to those in need in their community. The director of the facility noted that some of their seniors do not get special attention like this, and was so touched that the troop would act locally to bring joy to their residents. This project brought the girls a great sense of compassion and accomplishment as they counted their cards, “98, 99, 100!” This troop worked hard, and they worked together to ensure every senior felt the love this Valentine’s Day!
