Celebrate the Feast of St. Dominic Savio – May 6

Each year on May 6, the Salesian Family celebrates the feast of St. Dominic Savio—a powerful reminder that holiness is possible at any age.

A student of John Bosco, Dominic Savio lived an extraordinary life through ordinary actions—embracing prayer, joy, friendship, and a deep love for God in his daily responsibilities. His example continues to inspire young people to strive for holiness by doing everyday duties with great love.

Born on April 2, 1842, Dominic showed remarkable faith from a young age, even receiving his First Communion at just seven years old and committing himself to a life centered on Jesus and Mary. His well-known resolution, “death, but not sin,” reflects the depth of his commitment to living a life of virtue.

As we celebrate St. Dominic Savio, take a moment to reflect on his life and witness. May his example inspire all of us—especially young people—to live with joy, purpose, and faithfulness in the small moments of daily life.
