(Rosemead, California) — A student from Don Bosco Technical Institute, Andy Cao, has been selected for two highly competitive national programs recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and resilience.
Selected from more than 30,000 applicants nationwide, Andy is one of just 109 students to receive the prestigious Horatio Alger Association scholarship. The award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding character, determination, and perseverance in overcoming adversity while pursuing higher education. In addition to a $25,000 college scholarship, recipients are invited to an all-expenses-paid recognition trip to Washington, D.C., where they will be formally honored.
Andy has also been named a recipient of the Alexander Hamilton Scholars Program. The award recognizes exceptional students for academic achievement, leadership, service, and entrepreneurial spirit. Only 26 students were selected from approximately 1,000 applicants nationwide, making it one of the most selective honors for high school students in the country.
In addition, Andy will spend the upcoming summer furthering his academic and research interests through internship opportunities at Pomona College, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Chicago.
These accomplishments place Andy among a select group of students nationwide recognized for excellence in academics, leadership, and service.
