(Boyle Heights, California) – On August 18, our Salesian Youth Group celebrated Don Bosco’s birthday at a beach bonfire filled with friendship, reflection, and Salesian joy.

Rather than giving Don Bosco material gifts, our young people offered something more meaningful: personal commitments for the new school year. They identified goals such as overcoming procrastination, improving concentration, reducing technology-related distractions, managing overthinking and emotions, building confidence, practicing forgiveness, and balancing school, family, social life, and faith.

These commitments remind us that Don Bosco’s legacy remains alive when young people are accompanied, challenged, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves—with joy and hope.
