(Rosemead, California) – The Don Bosco Technical Institute (Bosco Tech) community will gather on Saturday, September 26, for its annual Mother’s Tea and Luncheon, a beloved tradition that takes on special meaning this year as the school welcomes its first group of female students.

After generations as an all-boys school, Bosco Tech is entering an important new chapter as young women officially become part of the school community for the first time. This year’s Mother’s Tea and Luncheon provides a joyful opportunity to continue welcoming these young women and to celebrate the mothers, family members, educators, and other women who will help accompany them on this new journey.

Hosted by the Bosco Tech Parent Council, the event will bring together Bosco Tech moms, grandmothers, aunts, godmothers, female students, and, this year, female members of the school’s Board of Directors as well as female faculty and staff.

The invitation extended to these women reflects the spirit behind this year’s celebration: “It’s a year of celebration as we continue to welcome our new group of young ladies to our school community. You all are a BIG part of our young ladies’ lives and your presence would mean a lot.”

The women gathered for the event are also being recognized for the many ways they will contribute to the formation of Bosco Tech’s young women. Whether through mentoring, teaching, friendship, or simply being present in times of need, each has a role in helping the students discover their path and envision their future.

The day will begin with an opening prayer and Mass in the Father Penna Chapel, celebrated by Fr. Kristian Laygo, with festive music provided by Rudy Herrera. Guests will then gather in Tech Hall for brunch, where they will be welcomed by the beautiful voice and music of one of Bosco Tech’s own employees.

Throughout the day, guests will enjoy games, raffles, a small silent auction, and the much-anticipated Hat Contest, with prizes awarded in four categories: Best Overall, Most Creative, Best Bosco Tech Spirit, y Best Collaboration.

A photo station will provide another opportunity for mothers, students, and their guests to capture memories from this special gathering—a celebration that marks not only another Bosco Tech tradition, but also a significant moment in the school’s history.

Adult guests will receive a teacup as a keepsake, while organizers are preparing a special gift for the young women attending. A mimosa will welcome adult guests as they arrive, followed by brunch and dessert.

More than a social gathering, this year’s Mother’s Tea and Luncheon is an opportunity for the Bosco Tech community to surround its newest students with the support and encouragement they need as they become part of a new generation of Bosco Tech students.

As the school opens its doors to young women for the first time, the presence of mothers, family members, educators, administrators, and other women in the Bosco Tech community becomes especially meaningful. Together, they help create a community in which these young women can feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to discover who they are and who they are called to become.

The event will take place Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The cost is $30 per attendee, including admission, brunch, and dessert. The early-bird price is available through September 12, with the regular price of $40 beginning September 13. Reservations are requested by September 21.
