(ANS – Chambéry – October 20, 2026) – In recent weeks, Costa de Beauregard Secondary School has opened two new buildings and completed renovations to two technical workshops. The openings took place in the presence of several officials, including Fabrice Pannekoucke, president of the regional council; Michel Dantin, president of the Fondation du Bocage; Xavier de Roissart, director-general; and Christine Metra, the school principal.
These improvements reflect the school’s strong commitment to providing students with learning environments that better prepare them for their chosen professions. The project represents a significant investment in renovations and furnishings, with 50% of the funding provided by the regional council.
Two New Buildings
Among the new facilities is a training shop designed specifically for students enrolled in the CAPa SAPVER program (Personal Services and Retail in Rural Areas). The space allows students to develop and practice sales skills in an environment similar to the one they will encounter in their future careers.
The shop may also be used by other classes, particularly students in Years 3 and 4 of the Discovering Trades program, as part of their mini-business projects.
The second building houses a new staff room for teachers, educators, and other personnel who support students daily. Equipped with restrooms and changing rooms, the facility improves working conditions, strengthens the sense of community, and provides a more welcoming environment for staff.
Technical Spaces for Hands-On Learning
The renovations also expanded and modernized two important educational spaces.
The 100-square-meter technical area dedicated to personal care now provides students with an environment that more closely reflects real-world professional settings. Here, they can learn and practice care procedures for different populations, including children, older adults, and people with disabilities.
Using training mannequins, students can practice professional techniques, develop independence, and gradually build confidence in a safe environment suited to their learning needs.
Another completely redesigned space is the 66-square-meter room dedicated to sociocultural activities, particularly lessons in sociocultural education (ESC). These classes encourage students to develop curiosity, creativity, and cultural awareness. They also give students opportunities to discover works of art, meet artists, and explore diverse artistic and cultural traditions.
Investing in the Professions of the Future
During the opening ceremony, partners, elected officials, school leaders, and members of the board of governors toured the new facilities and observed students participating in hands-on exercises and ongoing projects. These demonstrations offered a practical illustration of the facilities’ value and their role in the learning process. The Savoyard television channel 8 Mont-Blanc also attended the event.
Through this investment, Costa de Beauregard Secondary School reaffirms its commitment to offering young people educational pathways grounded in the realities of the workplace. The new facilities allow students to learn in settings that increasingly reflect the professional environments they will encounter in their future careers.
These improvements support the school’s continued development and its commitment to providing every young person with an environment that encourages learning, independence, and the development of personal career goals.
