“We are the now of God.” This theme for SYLC 2019 was inspired from Pope Francis’ apostolic letter “Christus Vivit,” a follow up to the 2018 Synod of Bishops on Young People, Discernment and Vocational Accompaniment.The 86+ youth and adults at this year’s SYLC, which took place at Camp St Francis in Aptos, CA, from June 9-15, was another testament to the empowerment of youth and adult leaders in our province. Accompanying them was the large number of members of the Salesian Family present this year: 15 SDB’s, two FMA’s and two Salesian Cooperators. There were participants from all five of our secondary schools and from five centers and parishes where the Salesian Family is currently present.We want to thank everyone who, through your prayers and support, have made SYLC a reality once again.
