Margie Cottrill is the new Salesian Volunteer who is coming from Massachusetts to spend one year of her life serving the youth of Boyle Heights. An 18 year-old teen, Margie has decided to discern her vocation with the Salesians. She is living in community with the Salesians Sisters at St. Mary’s. Her community experience has opened her eyes to a reality that she never knew existed. In the morning, Margie helps at St. Mary’s school and in the afternoon she leads the junior high program at the Salesian Family Youth Center. She also works with the confirmation classes on Wednesdays and leadership groups on Thursdays. On Saturday mornings, she is a catechist, and in the evenings, she ministers at the new Saturday Salesian Oratory. Margie will be with us until August 2020.
