The love for our children and families is so big that we are committing to open our doors from 8 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday in order to accommodate families that need to work and have no place for their children to go.
The effort to open our Clubhouse has challenged us to improve our staff scheduling, internet connection, and children’s activities schedule. Going from being open for 4 hours to being open for 10 hours implies a lot of adjusting on everybody’s part.
All of these sacrifices make sense when we think about ways we could continue to meet the needs of the children we are serving. We are happy to offer a place where they can do their schoolwork, where we can continue to accompany them in their educational journey, and at the same time make them feel welcomed and loved.
Today a staff member was sharing that things are different. We have children all day long, but everybody is quite doing their schoolwork, concentrated on what is crucial for them and their future.
I want to thank all the donors who have been here with us. Thank you, because without you so many children will be in their homes by themselves or in the streets doing something that is not good for them.
