Dear Salesian Family and Friends,
Fr. Alejandro Rodríguez, professor of Salesian Education at the ISS in Berkeley, has published a number of books in Spanish and English since joining the Formation Team at Don Bosco Hall in 2020. His latest contributions includes a monograph entitled Benevolencia en San Francisco de Sales: Algunas ideas Educativo-pastorales en la formación de la persona (Berkeley: Institute of Salesian Studies, 2022 – ISBN: 9781735 428376), and a scholarly article published this week, “Becoming a Relevant Leader via self-appropriation,” in Exploring Personhood in Contemporary Times from Leadership to Philosophy, edited by Lemuel W. Watson (Charlotte, NC: Information Age Publishing, 2023 – ISBN: 9 798887 301310). Fr. Alejandro not only teaches at the ISS, but, in the last year, has offered courses online for Salesian and State universities in Latin America. During the past year he has also preached Spiritual Retreats in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Peru and Colombia to Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and groups of the Salesian Family. At the same time, he is developing new short programs in Educational Leadership for educators and Salesian Family Groups, both in Spanish and English, which we hope to offer at Don Bosco Hall beginning next Autumn.
Thank you, Fr. Alejandro, for your contributions to our Salesian Institute at Berkeley, to our province and to the Interamerica Region.
Fr. Joe Boenzi, SDB
Director of Don Bosco Hall – Berkeley, California
