On April 15th, all staff members of the Salesian Family Youth Center gathered for a meeting that focused on professional and human formation as leaders. The meeting was divided into two main blocks: training and the review and monitoring of Strategic Planning.
During the first part of the meeting, the staff received training on the topic of Growth Mindset. This was selected because it aligns with the Salesian Province’s current focus on the Provincial Organic Plan. The Salesian Family Youth Center is committed to being part of the positive change and contributing to the work of the Province.
The second part of the meeting focused on Strategic Planning, which the Center has been working on for the past 7 years. Two strategic plans have been developed during this time. The first Strategic Planning aimed to strengthen the Center’s identity, programs, and internal structures. The second and current Strategic Planning is centered on being more present and significant in Los Angeles at all levels. This includes acquiring more resources, collaborations, programs, and being able to serve more vulnerable children and youth in the Boyle Heights community.
The Salesian Family Youth Center recognizes the importance of professional and human formation as leaders, which ultimately benefits the children and young people they serve. The staff’s commitment to the Provincial Organic Project and the Strategic Planning reflects their dedication to positive change and serving their community to the best of their abilities.
