Pancakes, Politics, and Progress: Salesian Family Youth Center Takes Action with Local Leaders in LA

By Luis Chacon

The Salesian Family Youth Center recently had the honor of participating in the Accenture Pancakes & Politics Speaker Series at The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. This event brought together a variety of leaders from across the community, including Los Angeles City Council President Paul Krekorian. It was an incredible opportunity for our organization to learn more about the pressing issues facing our city and to connect with other community organizations.

During the event, we had the privilege of hearing from President Krekorian about his experiences in leadership and his vision for the future of our city. We discussed a wide range of topics, including the importance of public safety, the need for better education and job opportunities, and even the impact of artificial intelligence on our community. It was a thought-provoking and inspiring conversation that left us with a lot to think about.

One of the highlights of the event was when we had the chance to ask President Krekorian about how the Salesian Family Youth Center could help in our efforts to improve public safety and education in our community. President Krekorian was impressed with the work we are already doing and asked how he could help us in return. We exchanged business cards and are excited to explore opportunities for collaboration in the future.

At the Salesian Family Youth Center, we are committed to serving the most vulnerable children and young people in our community. We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality education, safe and supportive spaces, and opportunities to build a better future for themselves and their families. That’s why events like the Accenture Pancakes & Politics Speaker Series are so important to us – they give us the chance to connect with other organizations and leaders who share our values and goals.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this event and look forward to continuing to work with President Krekorian and others in the community to create a brighter future for all Angelenos. With hard work, dedication, and collaboration, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
