On October 28, 2023, the Salesian Family Youth Center brought together its dedicated staff for its annual meeting, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the Salesian preventive system. This event served as a platform for the team to explore the principles of reason, religion, and loving kindness, critical components in providing excellent service to the children and families they serve.

The meeting featured interactive activities, including role-playing scenarios that encouraged participants to consider how to work together effectively. Staff members shared their thoughts and reflections, offering a glimpse into the valuable lessons they took away from the day.

One recurring theme was recognizing the strength that comes from working as a team. Participants emphasized that each team member possesses unique talents, and these strengths should be shared openly. They underscored the significance of asking for help and supporting one another, believing that this collaboration can only strengthen the team.

Throughout the meeting, participants expressed their commitment to improving communication and teamwork. They recognized that more vital collaboration would lead to more effective service delivery to the children and families they serve. This commitment was evident in the desire to foster a sense of unity among the staff and to create an environment where everyone could share their concerns and ideas openly.

One staff member, Rey Hernandez, shared his profound insights into the day’s activities. He stressed the importance of recognizing that each team member has a role and everyone’s ideas matter. He encouraged a proactive approach and the confidence to contribute to the team’s success.

Participants expressed willingness to change and grow in their roles at the youth center. This transformation involved better understanding the needs of the youth they serve, breaking down barriers, and finding ways to improve their programs continuously.

The meeting demonstrated that, as a collective, the Salesian Family Youth Center staff is not only dedicated but also committed to growth and improvement. Their annual gathering served as a reminder of the value of working as a team, appreciating each other’s talents, and fostering a more open and collaborative environment. The commitment to better communication and teamwork is a testament to their dedication to the children and families they serve.
