From St. John Bosco H.S.

St. John Bosco’s Engineering Pathway students have been busy! Last week they had the opportunity to attend the Bright Minds Student Summit at the WESTEC Manufacturing Technology event held at the Long Beach Convention Center.
The bridge project that these young engineers worked on culminated in the pathway’s lessons on statics and trusses. Students were tasked with designing a bridge based on specific criteria. They compete against each other to find out whose bridge best maximizes strength-weight ratio (and they watch their carefully constructed bridges break in the process).
The Bright Minds Student Summit featured incredible technology exhibits, keynote presentations from industry experts, and a special guided show-floor tour.
