Today, December 12th, is the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. 

Star of the evangelization of peoples, support of the indigenous people and the poor, the faithful humbly implore her help on Tepeyac Hill. She is the “great missionary” who brought the Gospel to America. Every year, millions of pilgrims visit the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where the mantle (tilmàtli) is kept. In the image imprinted on the cloak, Mary’s eyes show details of extraordinary precision and her gaze is particularly directed to the oppressed and suffering.
