(Bellflower, California) – On Friday, September 20, the Salesian Family gathered at St. Dominic Savio Church to welcome and meet Mother Chiara Cazuola, FMA, the 10th Successor of Mary Domenica Mazzarello, and to pray with the FMA candidates who received their postulancy medals during Evening Prayer. The joyous gathering began at 5:30 PM and drew not only members of the Salesian Family but also family and friends of the candidates. During Evening Prayer the FMA Provincial, Sr. Thuy Huong, presented to Mother Chiara the candidates for postulancy: Ivona Kodak, Brianna Cook, and Elizabeth Wostarek. The candidates asked to begin their postulant journey, seeking the will of God with the guidance of their formators and the support of their community. Mother Chiara joyfully received their request, presented each with their postulant medals, and offered her personal instruction as they begin their postulancy. Fr. Mel Trinidad, the SDB Provincial in USA West was also present, offering the closing prayer and his words of congratulations and prayerful support. A reception followed in the parish hall with food provided by the Salesian Family and entertainment by the FMA community and St. Dominic Savio school children. It was an evening sure to remain forever in the hearts of the young FMA postulants.
